Carbon Neutral Majuli – 2017

Care Luit has partnered with IORA Ecological Solutions in developing a low carbon pathway for the world’s largest river island. Launched by the Assam government as Sustainable Action for Climate-Resilient Development (SACReD) in Majuli, this project is part of the French Development Agency-assisted Assam Project on Forest and Biodiversity Conservation to combat climate change and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The efforts will lead to establishing Majuli as India’s first carbon-neutral district by 2020.
