Act EAST

On August 22, 2015 Care Luit organised a seminar titled ‘Act East & North East: Opportunities and Challenges for India’s North East’ in Guwahati, Assam. India’s north-east can serve as a frontier base in cementing strong economic ties between India and the prosperous Southeast Asian and East Asian economies, therefore, the government’s Act East policy is a welcome step for the region, and Care Luit’s seminar was aimed at creating a positive public awareness among the Northeastern people.

The list of speakers included – Sarbananda Sonowal, Minister for Sports & Youth Affairs (GoI), Ambassador Humayun Kabir of Bangladesh Foreign Service, Bijoya Chakraborty (MP), Prof. Srikanth Kondapalli (JNU, expert of China affairs), Alak. Kr. Buragohain (VC, Dibrugarh University) among other prominent academia and experts.
