About Care Luit
Care Luit is a trust registered in 2007. We have been actively pursuing various socio-economic and environmental activities to support the less privileged and marginalized, especially women and children. Care Luit has successfully implemented various CSR projects supported by leading Public-Sector Enterprises and has delivered high-impact programs in rural areas of Assam around socio-economic and livelihood improvement for communities, environmental and sustainability issues, education, and health aspects.
The nature of services provided by Care Luit includes baseline studies, capacity development, planning and execution of community-based activities having a broad-based community interface with targeted groups and conducting vocational training/skill development programs oriented towards providing livelihood opportunities.

Climate and Sustainability
Assam is now rated as the most vulnerable state in the Himalayan region according to a key Climate Vulnerability Index 2021-22. 15 of its districts are in the top 25 districts list of the most vulnerable districts in the country. Care Luit is working on a unique awareness generation program that encompasses activities that will help facilitate climate action and adaptation efforts at the local level.
Education & Skill Development
With access to the right resources, people can become empowered by their own abilities and gain the confidence to fulfil their potential. Quality education is a necessity of life. We strive to arrange vocational education, adult education, agricultural training, infrastructure, teacher training, and scholarships for poor children to empower their innate talent and capabilities.
Community Health & Hygiene
This pillar is about helping communities achieve better health indices, which directly reflects on the productivity and happiness of a community. Our focus is to organize health camps to promote basic amenities for health care, access to doctors, medicine, and education towards hygiene and sanitation, vaccination for children, family planning, and AIDS awareness.
Women Empowerment & Entrepreneurship Development
Equal respect for all genders is a cornerstone of a progressive society. This pillar rightfully assumes that women empowerment and entrepreneurship is an unfinished agenda. We need to collaborate with the appropriate stakeholders to empower women with education and skills so that they can become entrepreneurs to be financially independent.
Youth Development & Building Social Structures and Platforms
India is a young nation, and its youth will have to play a pivotal role in enhancing the standard of life in India. We strive to find new strategies to build social structures and platforms to engage the youth, bridge socio cultural gaps within different communities. These programs vary from educational, cultural, social to technical aspects.
Agriculture & Alternative Livelihood
India and particularly Assam is a state overly dependent on agriculture. We strive to focus on alternative livelihood projects to discourage activities deemed to be environmentally and ecologically damaging by teaching the farmers about lower impact livelihood activities that provide equal economic benefits.
Son Of The Soil AssamTM Biennial Award
Care Luit has designed this annual award to motivate and appreciate the hard work and perseverance of emerging performers of Assam.
The latest edition of the Son of the Soil Award was presented on 25th March 2023 for activities and achievements that have happened in the preceding 12–18 months between 1st of July 2021 and 31st December 2022
The award is presented to performers in 5 categories:
