Our Key Initiatives
Programming and community engagement are at the core of our strategy. We organize and support a diverse range of collaborative and innovative events that aim for the development of integrated solutions for those who need them most. These programs vary from educational, cultural, social to technology and climate centred aspects.
Climate & Sustainability
Global Foundation (GFAEHW) and Care Luit organized a multi-stakeholder dialogue aimed at collaborative climate action under Mission Life. Assam is the most vulnerable state in the Northeast, and 15 districts are in the bottom 25 districts list.
Care Luit is focussed on climate action at the grassroots level.
Super Material – Bamboo
Bamboo is widely referred as the super material of the 21st century for its versatility. Assam is rich in Bamboo reserves, and it is an intrinsic part of local culture. It can spur gainful employment and income generation prospects.
Care Luit regularly convenes seminars on ‘Emerging opportunities in Bamboo’ starting at the Advantage Assam global investors’ summit.
Clean, Green & Fit Village
Care Luit has collaborated with MyGOV Assam, OIL, and ONGC to implement multiple activities such as seminars, competitions, and quizzes.
Along with MyGov Assam and ONGC, Care Luit organized the Clean, Green & Fit Village campaign in 115 villages. Care Luit distributed bamboo dustbin, cloth shopping bag in an effort to sensitise people to give up single use plastic, and also distributed volleyball sets to encourage the youth to be fit.
Event Centric Activities
Care Luit actively takes part in all the important days & events recognized by state & central governments and international diaspora.
We participate in the annual Van Mahotsav Week, World Environment Day, International Day of Forests, Brahmaputra Volleyball League, and Internation Day of Yoga among others in collaboration with various PSUs, NGOs & the Government.
A Letter from the Managing Trustee
At Care Luit, our endeavour is to empower people’s lives via capacity building and progressive support. Since its inception in 2007, Care Luit has implemented various development projects and has delivered high-impact programs around socio-economic and livelihood improvements, environmental and sustainability issues, education, and health aspects.
The nature of technical assistance provided by Care Luit includes capacity development, planning, and execution of community-based activities having a broad-based community interface with targeted groups and conducting vocational training and skill development programs oriented towards providing livelihood opportunities. Our focus has been to include women and youth in the core programmatic areas of education, skill development, environment and sustainability, and sports among others.
We want to develop a systematic approach that better addresses development needs and vulnerabilities, now more sensitive because of climate risks. Our aim is to work toward a green transition that leaves no one behind through collective and practical action.
